1-ureido-3'-substituted biphenyl derivatives (I), their optical and/or geometrical isomers, pure or mixtures in all proportions, tautomers and salts are new. 1-ureido-3'-substituted biphenyl derivatives of formula (I), their optical and/or geometrical isomers, pure or mixtures in all proportions, tautomers and salts are new [Structure (I), page 33] R1 : 1-6C alkyl, acetyl, methylcyclopropyl, aralkyl or aryl; R2 : 3-8C alkyl; R3 : hydrogen or 1-6C alkyl; R4 and R5 : hydrogen, halo, hydroxy, 1-6C alkyl, alkoxy, benzyloxy or trifluoromethyl. An independent claim is also included for two methods of preparing (I). - ACTIVITY : Dermatological; Antiseborrheic; Antiinflammatory; Immunosuppressive; Antipsoriatic; Cytostatic; Vulnerary; Anorectic; Antilipemic; Antidiabetic; Antiarthritic; Antiasthmatic; Cardiant; Antiarteriosclerotic; Hypotensive. - MECHANISM OF ACTION : (I) are activators of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) gamma .
