The platform has an access token (JTN) and an access control intelligent unit (UCA). The control unit (UCA) has an authentication module (AUTH-1) of the access token selectively activated by an activation of a start unit (STRT). The control unit (UCA) prohibits access to a part of a memory (MBIOS-1) containing a basic input output system (BIOS), until successful authentication operation of the token (JTN) is achieved by the module. The token can be a universal serial bus (USB) token, a smart card, an Ethernet terminal and a multi media card (MMC). An independent claim is also included for a method of securing an access to an electronic platform.
