The device has a hollow spacer (4) having length adapted to spacing between thin walls (12, 14) of a partition, where the spacer has an expansible rear part. An expansion screw (6) and a nut (2) are to be screwed with each other. The screw has a tapered front part that is able to expand the expansible part of the spacer when the nut is locked on the screw. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a hooking device.
