The construction block, made from expanded polystyrene, has four vertical and parallel walls (1, 2, 3, 4) that are sufficiently thick to withstand the pressure of liquid concrete, assembled or moulded and separated by transverse spacers (5, 6, 7, 8) to form a series of linked cuboid cavities. The spacers are positioned in pairs, one above the other so they form regular vertical columns linked by the cuboid cavities. The top of each block has a rectangular U-section cavity that can hold steel reinforcing bars. Variants of the block can be made from concrete, wood, stone or glass.
