PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting receiver capable of informing a user of whether the program of the currently selected channel is changed or not concurrently with the view start without executing special operation. SOLUTION: A CPU 209, for example, starts broadcasting reception processing when a TVON key in a body key 214 is operated. The CPU 209 compares whether there is a difference between the newest program information obtained after starting the reception and the program information which is already held in a memory and corresponds to a current time of the channel select broadcasting. By this comparison, it can be judged whether the currently received program is broadcasted on time or whether the advance or the postponement of broadcasting of the program occurs. When the CPU 209 judges that the currently broadcasted program is not broadcasted on time, it makes a graphics controller 205 to execute OSD processing, and also, makes a character message such as "presence of postponement" to be displayed to a remaining part on the screen of an LCD panel 202.
