SOLUTION: In the optical disk device for allowing the tray 2 to advance and retreat in the advance and retreat directions (a), (b) by driving a pinion engaged with the rack 3 with the forward and reverse rotation while the rack 3 is formed along the advance and retreat directions (a), (b) on the lower surface of the tray 2 made of a synthetic resin for mounting a disk arranged at a casing so that it can advance and retreat, a number of circular holes 14 are recessed in a flat body 3A of the rack 3 at a prescribed interval (h) along the advance and retreat directions (a), (b) facing each tooth section 3B of the rack 3, a bottom surface 14a of each circular hole 14 is formed deeper than a lower surface 2a of the tray 2 by a prescribed interval (p), an aperture (t) of each circular hole 14 is set to be the same as or slightly larger than a tip width (m) of each tooth section 3B, and each circular hole 14 is positioned so that it is nearly in contact with a virtual line (s) for connecting a tooth groove bottom surface 3b of the rack 3.
