PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger of high efficiency by improving heat exchanging performance and reducing ventilation resistance of a gas, with respect to the heat exchanger used in an EGR system of an engine or the like. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger comprises a cylindrical shell in which the heat exchange is performed, headers 24, 25 respectively mounted at each of end part sides of the shell, and provided with a gas inlet portion or a gas outlet portion, end plates 32, 33 mounted between the shell and each of the headers, a plurality of tubes 28, 30 mounted between the end plates in a state of being penetrated through the end plates at end parts, and a inflow port 26 for allowing the fluid to flow in and an outflow port 27 for allowing the fluid to flow out, formed on a surface part of the shell 22 between the end plates. A diameter of the tube 30 near an outer side is determined to be larger than a diameter of the tube 28 near a center, on a cross-section of the shell 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
