PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression type air conditioner capable of circulating a refrigerant without using a mechanical means such as a positive displacement pump in indirect outside air cooling operation, and not excessively complicating a structure. SOLUTION: This air conditioner comprises a main circuit and a driving circuit 2, and the main circuit comprises a main compressor 11, an outdoor heat exchanger (14 and fan 13), a decompressing means (decompression valve Vx1), and an indoor heat exchanger (32 and fan 31). The refrigerant vapor is passed in the driving circuit 2, and the driving circuit 2 has refrigerant tanks T1, T2 communicated with the main circuit, and storing the refrigerant circulated in the main circuit, and a compressor for driving 21 for supplying the refrigerant vapor to the refrigerant tanks T1, T2. The liquid refrigerant circulated in the main circuit is sucked into the refrigerant tank (for example, T1) communicated with a suction side of the compressor for driving 21, and the liquid refrigerant stored in the refrigerant tank (for example, T2) communicated with a discharge side of the compressor for driving 21 is pushed out to a main circuit side.
