The present invention provides a method of picture processing for a display device, characterized by the steps of processing input picture signals (R,G,B) in a non-linear manner so as to produce output picture signals (R',G',B') for die device, such non-linear processing being responsive to parameters (Y,S,H) of the input picture signals (R,G,B).
