PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of obtaining an image signal of high quality by performing optimum noise quantity judgment and reduction processing. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus reduces noise components included in a digitized image signal generated through imaging of an imaging element (103), and has a judgement means (111) of judging whether or not an image signal of each pixel of interest in the image signal belongs to a specified noise range and a noise reducing means (112) of reducing noise of the pixel of interest according to the judgment result.
