PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and high-performance imaging lens suitable for a digital still camera using a high-density solid-state image pickup element having one million pixels or more. SOLUTION: The imaging lens is equipped with a 1st lens group comprising a lens 1 having positive refractive power and a lens 2 having negative refractive power, an aperture diaphragm 6 forming a prescribed aperture, and a 2nd lens group comprising one lens 3 having negative refractive power and two lenses 4 and 5 having positive refractive power in order from an object side to an image surface side, and the 1st lens group and the 2nd lens group are formed to include the resin lenses 2 and 5 formed of resin material therein. Thus, the high-optical-performance imaging lens having a retrofocus type constitution comprising three lenses having positive refractive power and two lenses having negative refractive power, realizing the reduction of cost, capable of securing an appropriate back focus, restraining an emitting angle to be small, having a wide angle of view and made bright and capable of coping with the high-density solid-state image pickup element.
