PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the difference in light quantity on a photoreceptor which is scanned with a plurality of beams having different deflection directions. SOLUTION: In the optical scanner 10, the incident angles of beams to a plurality of mirrors 36 which reflect a plurality of beams deflected with a rotating polygon mirror 32 are so set that the accumulated difference in reflectance of S-polarized light and P-polarized light on the plurality of mirrors 36 becomes 20% or smaller in the case where a light quantity control function is provided and 10 % or smaller in the case where the light quantity control function is not provided.
