摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine starter for improving startability of an engine, by increasing energy of first combustion of an expansion stroke cylinder (a cylinder existing in an expansion stroke in stopping) in restarting, without excessively increasing a cylinder air quantity of the expansion stroke cylinder and reverse rotation energy of the engine. SOLUTION: This engine starter starts the engine by operating in the normal rotation direction after operating once in the reverse rotation direction; and has a fuel injection control means for setting the fuel injection timing and a fuel injectioin quantity to a compression stroke cylinder 12C. This fuel injection control means sets first fuel injection supplied to the compression stroke cylinder 12C for combustion for operating the engine in the reverse rotation direction so as to become the lean air-fuel ratio, and sets so as to perform third fuel injection becoming the air-fuel ratio richer than the combustible air-fuel ratio as a whole in the latter half of the first compression stroke of the compression stroke cylinder 12C after operating in the normal rotation direction thereafter.
