Each access point (S1-S3) has first (1a-1c) and second (2a-2c) access control units (ACU). The first ACU act as online ACU and can register an identification number (IDN) for a data carrier (DC) fed into them. The first online ACU can check the IDN's validity and write a temporary access entitlement to the DC if the IDN is valid.
