FIELD: sorbents. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention provides sorbent based on manganese oxides, which is prepared by a method comprising mixing of alkali metal permanganate solution with reducer in alkali medium to form slurry of manganese oxide precipitate followed by pause, during which suspension of organic binder in amount 0.5 to 10% of the weight of manganese oxide precipitate is added. Precipitate is then separated, dried on working surface, calcined, and subjected to decrepitation to produce granules. Organic binder is selected from polyvinyl alcohol, polyacrylamide, polyvinylacetate, carboxymethylcellulose, gelatin, and casein.
