PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide eco-friendly glass for an ultraviolet light-transmitting filter and an eco-friendly ultraviolet light-transmitting filter. SOLUTION: The glass for an ultraviolet light-transmitting filter contains substantially no Pb, As, Cd and Cr, and contains 55-75% of SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0-5% of Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0-5% of B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>(wherein SiO<SB>2</SB>+Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>+B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>is 55-75%), 10-30% of Na<SB>2</SB>O, 5-20% of CaO, 0-20% of ZnO (wherein CaO+ZnO is 5-20%), 1-5% of NiO, and 0.1-2% of Co<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, by weight. The glass has the transmittance properties in which the wavelength indicating the highest transmittance in 200-700 nm is in the range of 350-380 nm; the highest transmittance value in terms of a thickness of 2.5 mm is 50% or more; and the highest transmittance value in 405-700 nm in terms of the thickness is less than 1%.
