PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil absorbing implement effective in eliminating oil content from oil mixed drain in washing cooking utensils, tableware, a lunch box, or the like and combining a role like teaching materials on tackling environmental problems. SOLUTION: The oil absorbing implement for use placed in a strainer of a sink drain port is formed by assembling an oil absorbing mat and its shape holding ring-like reinforcing member, and structural members having blade-like protrusions, grooves for the shape holding ring-like reinforcing member of the oil absorbing mat, and leg parts. The oil absorbing mat suction-holds the oil content from the oil mixed drain and discards it. Consequently, there is hardly any oil content discharged into environment, and the oil absorbing mat and cooking waste can be easily classified and discarded. Furthermore, since the oil absorbing implement is small, easy to handle and assembled, it has adaptability as an auxiliary implement or school teaching materials for explanation, interpretation and understanding in enlightening activity on tackling the environmental problems, activity for exaltation of consciousness, or the like.
