In a mounting arrangement for a cylindrical roller comprising a fixed support (11) for a rotatable casing containing an internal slide bearing (SB) with SB elements on the peripheral surface of the support acting radially against the inner casing surface, SB elements (43) on the front surface (20) of the support acting axially against the front inner surface (49) of the casing and axial seals combining with the axial bearing, the axially acting SB elements (43) are located on a supporting ring (40) on the front surface of the support. The ring (including the SB element) is radially movable relative to the front surface, such that the common position of the roller casing front part (49) and the SB element (43) lying against its inner surface in a radial direction remains constant irrespective of the common radial position of the roller casing and support.
