The method involves determining two sets of data records from a collected data base under application of a request input data vector that lies within a pre-determined range. A function illustration is formed based on one of the sets. The range is smaller than another pre-determined range and lies in the latter range. Another function illustration is formed based on the data records. An independent claim is also included for a device for a method of determining a function illustration.
