<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a display device while improving its property of responsiveness even when a display area is increased. <P>SOLUTION: The display device comprises an optical waveguide matrix 20 arranged with a plurality of optical waveguides 20X<SB>1</SB>to 20X<SB>4</SB>and a plurality of optical waveguides 20Y<SB>1</SB>to 20Y<SB>3</SB>in a matrix so as to be orthogonalized in X and Y, LEDs 30X<SB>1</SB>to 30X<SB>4</SB>for respectively scanning the plurality of the optical waveguides 20X<SB>1</SB>to 20X<SB>4</SB>and LEDs 30Y<SB>1</SB>to 30Y<SB>4</SB>for respectively scanning the plurality of the optical waveguides 20Y<SB>1</SB>to 20Y<SB>3</SB>, and a display panel 40 for displaying the dot images corresponding to respective intersections in the optical waveguide matrix 20 when irradiated with the light of a level above the threshold from scattering sections 20<SB>11</SB>to 20<SB>43</SB>corresponding to the respective intersections. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
