SOLID FORMED BODY OF METAL CUTTING POWDER, AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid formed body of metal cutting powder which exhibits high strength and to provide its production method.

SOLUTION: This solid formed body is characterized in that a second phase consisting of the metal cutting powder different in crystal structure from a basic phase is incorporated as a linear dispersion reinforcement phase extended by a plastic working in the basic phase composed of at least one kind of the metal cutting powder. In the production method, the cutting powder of the metal different in the crystal structure from at least one kind of the basic phase being the second phase is mixed into the metal cutting powder being the basic, is plastically worked at a temperature at which the plastic strain stored in the cutting powder is not eliminated and is solidified to form the extended linear dispersion reinforcement phase consisting of the cutting powder of the second-phase.
