摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide platinum-free or low platinum non-oxide fuel cell catalyst stable in acidic atmosphere, and easy to control electronic structure. <P>SOLUTION: The platinum-free or low platinum non-oxide fuel cell catalyst having oxygen reduction property is designed by selecting Chevrel phase sulfides expressed by general formula; M<SB>x</SB>Mo<SB>6</SB>S<SB>8-y</SB>, containing metal M, molybdenum, and sulfur, as a carrier, and by making the carrier carry platinum. In the formula, metal M is a transition metal element chosen from Cu, Ti, Zr, Hf, Sn, Pb, V, Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Tc, Re, Fe, Co, Ni, Pt, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dr, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu, the composition ratio x of the metal M is larger than 0 and not larger than 4, and the composition ratio y of sulfur is not smaller than 0 and not larger than 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
