<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make injury of an occupant by inflation of an air bag to the minimum for the occupant such as a child seating a seat other than a regular position of a front passenger seat and to certainly protect and restrict an occupant for the occupant of adult seated at the regular position by deploying and inflating the air bag to an appropriate shape. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag 30 is provided with a tether, a front end of a lower part 42 of the tether is connected to an air bag case 10 at deployment and a rear end 41a of an upper part 41 of the tether is connected to an upper part of the air bag. A lower end of a connection part 43 is arranged so as to be connected to a lower part of the air bag and a front end of the upper part 41 of the tether and a sewing part 50 of a rear end of the lower part 42 of the tether are connected to the connection part 43. When the air bag 30 is deployed and a relative distance of the lower end of the connection part 43 and the sewing part 50 becomes longer than the length of the connection part 43, the sewing part 50 becomes loose and the upper part 41 of the tether and the lower part 42 of the tether get apart from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
