<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe fitting assuring a high sealing performance without using a gasket (packing) in the joint part and allowing easy assembling work. <P>SOLUTION: The pipe fitting 1 is structured so that concentrical grooves 2 are formed at one of the flat, abutting surfaces 5', 5' mating together of the joint parts 5, 5 of a pair of pipes and ring-shaped ridges 3 to be fitted in the grooves 2 are formed on the abutting surface 5' of the other party, wherein the internal circumferential wall 9 of each groove 2 in the first named party is formed as a part 7 having a constant wall thickness from the groove bottom 4, or the inside surface of the internal circumferential wall 9 is shaped as a slope 6 such that the thickness lessens from the part 7 gradually to the end 9' of the inner circumferential wall, and also the inner wall 8 of the ring-shaped ridge 3 is shaped as a slope 8 such that the thickness lessens toward the end of the ridge 3, whereby the pipe fitting is established in which the whole circumferential of the peripheral edge of the internal circumferential wall end part 9' of the groove 2 can be put in pressure contact with the inner wall 8 of the ridge 3 by fitting together the mating joint parts 5 and securing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
