PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device that can prevent ink from being supplied from a cartridge to a recording head even if the wrong kind of cartridge is installed. SOLUTION: After reading the information on the cartridge with a semiconductor memory element 8e installed on the mounted ink cartridge 8, whether the ink cartridge can be used is judged. When the ink cartridge is determined to be usable, a cam component 34 is rotatively driven, thereby lifting up a supply needle driving lever 32. Thus it helps an ink supplying needle 41 to connect with an ink derivation hole 8b of a cartridge 8, and ink is supplied from the cartridge 8 to a record head 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
