PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking method for a vehicle which is particularly suitable for a truck-trailer train having a tow bar. SOLUTION: A braking unit of a vehicle (2) can be automatically operated by an electronic controller, the unit can be controlled by an antilock system (7) to avoid locking of wheels (8, 9, 10, 11), and the unit is provided with a brake pressure adjuster (12) shared by the wheels (8, 9) on at least one (4) of axles of the vehicle (2) for avoiding locking by the antilock system (7). The vehicle (2) is checked for a risk of a turnover, and if the risk is detected, the brake unit of the vehicle (2) is automatically operated by the electronic controller, and rotational behavior of the wheel (8) inside a curve traced by the axle (4) having the brake pressure adjuster (12) shared for avoiding locking is not taken into consideration at least temporarily during automatic operation of the antilock system (7).
