<p>The indicator light is installed in the handle of the vehicle door. The light comprises a body (11) whose front edge has a groove containing several circuit boards, a waveguide board (12) and a cover (13). Each circuit board is provided with a light emitting body. A current cable (14) is connected to each circuit board and is arranged in a cable guide and then guided through a hole in the groove so that the cables extend out of the body. A light guiding plate is installed on the top of the circuit boards. The current cable of the plate is connected to a control unit of an integrated circuit in the vehicle for controlling illumination of the light emitting body of at least one circuit board. On switching the indicator to indicate a change in direction, the light emitting body of at least one circuit board goes out while that of the other(s) flashes. The area around the vehicle is lit up to warn other road users of the change in direction to avoid collisions caused by lack of visibility.</p> |
