COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATMENT OF ACNE

The present invention provides a method for treating, controlling or inhibiting acne vulgaris comprising administering to a subject afflicted with acne vulgaris a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising picolinic acid or its derivative, wherein the compositions reduces or inhibits growth of Proprionibacterium acnes. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising picolinic acid or its derivative, wherein the amount of the picolinic acid or its derivative in the pharmaceutical composition is sufficient to reduce or inhibit growth of Proprionibacterium acnes.
