<p>A device movable along the surface of an object, comprising two sets of suction port units having negative pressure regulating valve units with a function to selectively control the degree of vacuum. An extensible drive unit connecting these two sets of suction port units to each other further comprises a left side extensible drive unit, a right side extensible drive unit, and a connection means for the non-moving body part of the extensible drive unit. The connection means restricts these two sets of extensible drive units in a direction parallel with the moving direction of the device so that the relative position of these two sets of extensible drive units is kept unchanged. Also, two types of wheels, i.e., one having a rotating shaft parallel with the moving direction of the device and the other having a rotating shaft orthogonal to the moving direction are fitted to the suction port units, and these two types of wheels are selectively pressed against the surface of the object according to the shape of the device for each time series when the device performs steering operation.</p> |
