摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording material which has high ink absorbing properties and a high printing density in regard to both a dye ink and a pigment ink and has a water resistance and which is excellent in moist heat yellowing properties of a white paper part and enables attainment of a photo-like mat-tone image. <P>SOLUTION: The ink jet receiving material has an ink receiving layer containing mainly an inorganic pigment of which the average secondary particle diameter according to a Coulter counter method is 1-10 &mu;m, on a paper substrate constituted mainly of natural pulp and having a sheet density of 0.95 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more, and has, on the ink receiving layer, the uppermost layer containing alumina or an alumina hydrate and a porous synthetic amorphous silica as the inorganic pigment and containing a dimethylamine-epichlorhydrin polycondensate and a water-soluble polyvalent metal salt. The alumina or the alumina hydrate makes up 20-50 mass% of the inorganic pigment contained in the uppermost layer, while the coating weight thereof is 2-5 g/m<SP>2</SP>, and the 75 degree specular glossiness stipulated in JIS-P-8142 is 2-10%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
