METAL OXIDE PARTICLE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND EXHAUST GAS CLEANING CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal oxide particles having a plurality of useful properties in combination and useful for producing an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst; and to provide a method for producing the particles, and the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst for cleaning components in an exhaust gas.

SOLUTION: The metal oxide particles are composed of a center part 1 containing a ceria-zirconia solid solution in a relatively large amount and an outer skin part containing a second metal oxide such as ceria or zirconia in a relatively large amount. The method for producing the same is also provided. The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is obtained from the metal oxide particles.
