PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharging head which prevents nozzle clogging by carrying out spare discharging during printing and can maintain the productivity, and to provide an image forming apparatus and a discharging control method. SOLUTION: In a printing head which discharges ink including charged ink color material particles from discharge holes 51, electrophoresis electrodes 59 which consist of electrodes 59A and 59B and generate an electric field within nozzle tips 51B are set at line outer peripheral parts of the nozzle tips 51B to be opposed to each other. The ink color material particles are moved by the electric field generated between the electrophoresis electrodes 59 to the vicinity of the electrodes 59A in the nozzle tips 51B. At the time of spare discharging, a liquid which has a part or the whole of the ink color material particles removed and is turned transparent is discharged by actuators 58 from nozzle openings 51A.
