摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing gallium where, at the time when gallium is recovered from a Bayer liquid using an adsorbent material with substituted quinolinol as a chelating agent, an alkali electrolyte having a high gallium concentration is prepared, and by electrolytic refining, metallic gallium is produced, electrolytic efficiency and a gallium recovery are excellent without requiring complicated devices or operations, and further, the formation of spongy gallium can be suppressed as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing high purity gallium where gallium is recovered from a Bayer liquid using an absorbent material with substituted quinolinol as a chelating agent, an alkali electrolyte having a high gallium concentration is prepared, and, by electrolytic refining, metallic gallium is produced, at the time when the alkali electrolyte is prepared from the gallium extract, alkali refining treatment where, in the gallium extract, the concentration of aluminum is regulated to≥0.1 g/L, and pH value to 10 to 13, and the precipitated iron hydroxide is separated away is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
