<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately set the finish timing of engine output increase control when shifting down on the basis of deceleration will of a driver. <P>SOLUTION: The engine output increase control (throttle opening control and fuel injection restoring control) is started at times t6 and t7 when reduced up to " starting hydraulic pressure " without causing an acceleration feeling even if engine output increases when shifting down on the basis of the deceleration will of the driver. Afterwards, a shift progress rate E for determining the finish of the engine output increase control is set by taking into consideration a response delay (Tsd + Td + Te) of a system on the finish of the engine output increase control to a shift progress rate (SftR = 100 %) after a shift.
