PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair to be suitably changed in posture by reducing the operation sound of a motor which increases speed by a sitting load. SOLUTION: The chair 1 includes: a chair body 1a; a rocking mechanism 6 for vertically rocking a seat part 3; the motor 610 for generating driving force relative to the operation of the rocking mechanism 6; a driver 612 for controlling the rotation speed of the motor 610; a regenerative braking part 66 for performing the regenerative braking of the motor 610; and a regenerative braking part operating means 65 for operating the regenerative braking part 66, by which the rotation speed of the motor 610 is prevented from exceeding the control range of the driver 612 and being increased to be larger than a prescribed speed since the load on the chair body 1a allows the motor 610 to increase the speed.
