PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber module capable of reducing the number of components in an optical coupling structure, enhancing the productivity and reducing the coupling loss, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The optical fiber module 11 is provided with an optical fiber cable 12 and a ferrule 13. A part or all parts of the ferrule 13 are molded with transparent resin material. A convex lens 18a is formed on the ferrule 13. A refractive index matching oil 14 is disposed closely between the innermost part 20a-1 of ferrule hole 20 and the tip of an optical fiber 15. A laser welding part 21 which seals the refractive index matching oil 14 by the use of the ferrule 13 and an optical fiber clad 16 is formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
