An aberration corrector for correcting aberration of an image formation optical system by inserting an electro-optical panel into the optical system, in which three kinds of aberration can be corrected using one electro-optical panel. A part (E00, E01, E02) of a division area pertaining to correction of coma and division areas E11-E18 pertaining to correction of astigmatism are formed on one of the transparent electrodes (12a, 12b) of the electro-optical panel, and the remaining part (E31, E32) of division area pertaining to correction of coma and division areas E20, E21 pertaining to correction of spherical aberration are formed on the other of t he transparent electrodes (12a, 12b). Consequently, an area divided to an electrode pattern suitable for correcting each aberration can be formed, and control of a voltage being applied to the division area can be simplified by simplifying the electrode structure of the transparent electrode comprising that division area as much as possible.
