<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst carrier made of a metal capable of enhancing durability by enhancing a retaining force of a honeycomb structure body relatively to an outer cylinder. <P>SOLUTION: In the catalyst carrier 1 made of the metal having a structure that a wax foil material 2 is wound on at least a part of an outer periphery in the honeycomb structure body 1 in which a large number of cell passages passing an exhaust gas between respective corrugated sheets 11 and flat plates 12 are formed by alternately and multiply superposing the corrugated sheets 11 and the flat plates 12, in the state that it is press-fitted/attached into the outer cylinder 3 made of a metal, the corrugated sheets 11 and the flat plates 12 are diffused/jointed by heat treatment and the honeycomb structure body 1 and the outer cylinder 3 are joined by the wax foil material 2.
