<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of erroneous determination (erroneous operation) due to voltage fluctuation of a battery. <P>SOLUTION: This safety device for generating pulses by rotation of an elevating motor for elevating and lowering window glass of a power window for a vehicle and determining that foreign matter is nipped by observing change of pulse width during window closing operation to invert into window opening operation is provided with a storage device for storing a change rate of pulse width of two continuous pulses detected by a pulse width detector by relating it to window position information by a window position counter while the window glass rises at reference time, a computing device for computing continuous pulse width detected by the pulse width detector by relating it to the window position information by the window position counter when the window glass rises, and a control device for comparing a stored value of change rate of pulse width related to the window position information by the storage device with a computed value of change rate of pulse width related to the window position information by the computing device and driving the elevating motor in the direction of window glass opening irrespective of a condition of an operation switch when total of difference between both change rates of pulse width exceeds an allowance value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
