PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable plastic film-made old newspaper collection bag which has a carrying handle part and a parallelopiped bag body part when it is used and need not be collected or incinerated after it is used, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The biodegradable plastic film-made old newspaper collection bag has a carrying handle part and a parallelopiped bag body part when old newspaper is stored therein, and is heat-sealable. A W-shaped gusset fold is provided on a top edge and a bottom edge of the bag, both side edges of the bag are melt-cut or welded, the gusset fold at the top edge is cut at the center fold, and a film is punched at the center of the top edge to form the handle part. Each pair of outer and inner films of the gusset fold are welded diagonally to the top edge and the bottom edge of the bag from a part in a vicinity of the inner fold of the gusset of the top edge and the bottom edge. The method for manufacturing the old newspaper collection bag comprises (1) a gusset folding step, (2) a cutting step, (3) a punching step, (4) a welding step, and (5) a heat-cutting step while transferring the long tubular film.
