PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for folding a printing plate which can accurately fold the printing plate without heating and simplify a device/a mechanism and a device for folding the printing plate. SOLUTION: In the method, the printing plate 1 is mounted on a pedestal 2 and a folding base plate 3, a plate fixing block 4 and a folding block 5 are brought down, after the upper surface of the printing plate 1 is pushed by the blocks 4 and 5, the folding block 5 positioned on the side edge 1a side of the printing plate 1 is rotated by about 180°in the rotation direction R around the tip 3a of the folding base plate 3, and the folded printing plate 1 is pressed with the folding base plate 3 inserted between the blocks 4 and 5.
