PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specific method of determining the shape and dimension of a support body for emergency travel. SOLUTION: The designing method of the support body for emergency travel comprises a procedure (step S101) of setting a design parameter used to design the support body for emergency travel in designing the support body for emergency travel arranged inside a tire mounted to a rim, a procedure (step S103) of preparing an evaluation model of the support body from the set design parameter, a procedure (step S104) of contacting the prepared evaluation model with a previously prepared tire inner surface model on a predetermined condition, a procedure (step S106) of setting a design characteristic value of the support body from at least one of the evaluation model and the tire inner surface model, and a procedure (step S108) of determining the design parameter so that the design characteristic value becomes an optimum value according to a purpose.
