PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor's image quality improving method, capable of putting restraints on an influence of noises in low luminescence, when changing a saturation value. SOLUTION: A gain PGain range of a preamplifier for amplifying an analogue signal output from a pixel arrangement portion, depending on the luminescence of the signal is sectionalized into a first to third ranges (a to c) according to a minimum value SatGainMin and a maximum value SatGainMax. In the first range, a positive integer value N (=Usat) is used as an actual saturation value Asat, and in the third range, a positive integer value M (=1) not more than the value N is used as an actual saturation value Asat. Further, in the second range, the actual saturation value Asat, determined by using a monotonically decreasing linear function from N to M, is used, and the saturation processing is carried out.
