The invention relates to a layer arrangement for an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) of the top-emitting type and to a display device and a lighting device comprising said layer arrangement. The layer arrangement comprises a lower electrode (A), an upper, transparent electrode (K), and an organic layer area (O) which is disposed between the two electrodes (A; K) so as to contact the lower and the upper electrode (A; K). Light can be generated in said organic layer area by recombination of electrons and holes and emerges through the upper electrode (K). The lower electrode (A) has a layer structure wherein a lower electrode layer is a metal layer. The invention is characterized in that a protective and modifying layer is arranged in the layer structure of the lower electrode (A) on top of the metal layer and contacts the organic layer area (O).
