An adapter (3-7,9) to attach a lighting unit (1,2) to a carrier, especially a spectacle system, comprises a unit to fix to a cross piece of the carrier and a piece to connect to the light along with a unit to adjust the inclination of the light to the carrier. The fixing and connecting pieces are in the same plane. An independent claim is also included for a light for use with the adapter above.
