PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact domestic elevator to communicate the downstairs with the upstairs in a house so as to realize a stable and silent operation. SOLUTION: A hoistway 2 is constituted by connecting a first part 3 facing a first floor space, a second part 4 facing a ceiling part between the first floor and the second floor, and a third part 5 facing a second floor space to each other. Each pair of opposing side piece parts 3b, 3c, 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b facing the parts 3, 4, 5 are integrated with first to fifth guide pieces 9a, 12a, 16a, 9b, 12b, 16b, 9c, 12c, 16c, 8b, 11b, 15b, 8c, 11c, 15c to move and guide first to third guide rollers 19, 20, 21 provided on four corners of an elevating/lowering body 17.
