PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant epoxy resin composition which is excellent in solvent-solubility, gives a cured product exhibiting heat resistance, a low dielectric dissipation factor and flame retardancy with a good balance and is suitably employable for electric insulation applications and the like, and a cured product using the same. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition comprises a polyfunctional aromatic polyester (A) comprising an aromatic polyhydric hydroxy compound residue (a1) represented by structural formula (1) (wherein l is an average of a recurring unit of 0-4.0; K, M, P and R are each a substituent group and are each independently a halogen atom, a 1-4C alkyl group or a 1-4C alkoxyl group; and k, m, p and r are each an integer of 0-4) and an aromatic polybasic carboxylic acid residue (a2) and having an aryloxycarbonyl group (a3) at its molecular end, an epoxy resin (B) and a flame-retardant (C).
