PROCESS FOR PRODUCING (METH)ACRYLIC ACID OR (METH)ACROLEIN

A process for obtaining a reaction gas containing (meth)acrylic acid or (meth)acrolein through the steps of feeding propylene, propane or isobutylene and a gas containing molecular oxygen into a reactor loaded with a catalyst and carrying out catalytic vapor-phase oxidation, in which at the restart of operation after the suspension of catalytic vapor-phase oxidation operation, there would be no deterioration of catalytic activity and selectivity for desired product. There is provided a process for producing (meth)acrolein or (meth)acrylic acid, comprising the steps of feeding propylene, propane or isobutylene and a gas containing molecular oxygen into a reactor loaded with a catalyst and carrying out catalytic vapor-phase oxidation operation for formation of (meth)acrolein or (meth)acrylic acid, wherein at the suspension of the catalytic vapor-phase oxidation operation a gas containing molecular oxygen is supplied to the catalyst-loaded reactor.
