A sheet metal piece is attached to the vertical edge of a door jamb and faces the casing (15) of a mortise lock (11) embedded into the exposed face (8) at the vertical edge of a door panel (10). A recess (5) is cut into one corner adjacent to the exposed face. An elastomer seal is interposed between the recess and the stopping face at the door jamb. The metal piece has recesses for lock bolts or latches.
