The quantum cascade laser (2), the optical units (3, 6), the mirrors (4, 5) and the detector (7) are arranged in such a way to a vessel (9), in which a measurement is to take place, that the radiation of the quantum cascade laser (2) is conducted into the vessel (9) via a mirror (4) through a window (8). The radiation reflected from the rear side of the vessel is guided through the same window (8), is then focused by a spherical mirror (5) and conducted to the detector (7) via the back plane of the mirror (4).
